Mass Spectrometry Imaging (MSI) is a technique that enables researchers to determine the precise distribution of small molecules such as drugs, drug metabolites, and endogenous metabolites and lipids throughout tissue, without radioisotope labeling or tagging. These experiments are enabled by the AB SCIEX TOF/TOF™ instruments. Optional TissueView™ Software enables advanced data processing and visualization capabilities.

  • Make earlier go/no-go decisions based on drug distribution.
  • Identify compounds faster by obtaining accurate mass information directly from tissue samples.
  • Determine precise compound distribution by acquiring high-spatial resolution images.

Eliminate Radioisotope Labeling: Mass Spectrometry Imaging eliminates radioisotope labeling, so you not only get drug distribution results faster -- you can make them available for discovery and early development studies sooner too. In addition, you can easily differentiate the drug from drug metabolites and view distribution of endogenous species such as lipids.

Get Precise Information on Compound ID and Distribution: Mass Spectrometry Imaging allows you to acquire MS and MS/MS information directly from tissue slices. Sophisticated software tools combine spectra to create a two-dimensional mass spectrometric photographic representation of the compound's distribution throughout the tissue sample.

Powerful data visualization tools: The optional TissueView™ Software allows researchers to process and visualize imaging data to take data analysis to the next level
